The Centre for Japanese Studies

The Centre for Japanese Studies gathers 35 members and some 20 associate members working on Japan, and is one of the most important European teams in the field of Japanese studies. It was created in 1974 as a research centre of the National Institute of Oriental Studies (Inalco) and established an outshoot at the University Toulouse II-Le-Mirail in 2012. In 1994 it was recognised as a training team for PhD students and overlooks some 35 in 2013.
